This species is closely similar to M. rectotibialis Iwasa, but is distinguishable from it by the shape of male surstylus. It is also similar to M. liangi sp. nov., but can be separated from it by the following features: antenna yellowish brown, but ventrally darkened; thoracic anepisternum wholly glossy; hind tibia blackish brown with yellow apical ring; lateral view of surstylus long, de: as: ps = 1: 1.3: 1.5.
